Good move in the right direction but it still should be moved until after the playoffs. Fix that and then make it to where if Team X “poaches” a player from Team Y due to the window being open due to a coaching change, then the players on Team X are allowed to transfer.

On Thursday, the NCAA Football Oversight Committee voted to support a single transfer portal, per Yahoo! Sports‘ Ross Dellenger. The 10-day window is expected to open Jan. 2. On3’s Pete Nakos confirmed this report. Per Dellenger, the vote requires approval from the Administrative Committee by Oct. 1 to take effect this year. Currently, there are two transfer portal windows for college football.

problem is classes start before end of playoff in most places
the academic side is still supposed to play some part in all of this

Single transfer portal window is fine, but doesn’t May make the most sense?

It prevents players from learning a scheme and then immediately transferring to a competitor and allows transfers to get a spring practice in. It also saves Spring Games.

How does this stop a player from leaving their current school and then enrolling in another outside the transfer window?

I don’t believe any of those 3 reasons are bigger than preventing transfers for the 12 teams that are still trying to win a championship.

This has nothing to do with it
You have to be enrolled in school in time.

They need to move the portal date back to after the national championship and carve out a rule that transferred players who are enrolled for the Fall can practice in the Spring. But you'd have to have people with a brain working for the NCAA.

Explain to me how it works when you enroll for classes a third of the way through the semester

Enrolled wasn't the right word, MingoWasHisFagO. Accepted by the University, stated your intention to go there in the Fall. You can make it against the rules for a transfer portal player who transferred at the end of January to transfer again after Spring practice.

You can when you write the rules.

It wasn't dumb. It's a good idea to solve mass transfers in the middle of the playoff.

Except they can’t make that rule

And when a judge rules that rule is a violation of the player's rights?

School starts in January… transfer portal in reality should be when spring semester ends

Well that’s just gay, don’t live in reality. Let the dumbasses live in their little fantasy world

The NCAA implodes, college football is acquired by the N.F.L., and college football becomes a minor league system.
