PMAC is open on game days. They always have an SEC game on the big screen over the basketball court. Also have concessions and the band plays as well.

PMAC is a poor substitute for the Union on game days.

Why? It’s close to stadium & better security. Too many BR hood rats around the union that aren’t there for football

Took me years of going to LSU games to figure out there ever was a union we could hang out and eat at. But when I did find it I loved it! Was so disappointed when i realized they closed the union on gamedays.

Suggestion for the LSU admin, why not put up some barricades and limit admission to people with game tickets or LSU student IDs.

The Union was taken over by HS kids. I can only guess LSU was having to allocate too many resources to deal with the kids, so found it easier to just close it down. It was one of our favorite spots 15 or so years ago, would take my youngster out there, walk around for a bit, then hit up the Chic Fil A before the game and let everyone cool down and watch some of the early games.

I've been to several other SEC campuses. To my knowledge, ours is the only one that closes the student union on game day. It's a shame to let one small group ruin the experience for everyone else.

I don't remember them having concessions in the PMAC. Outside, yes. That has been my biggest gripe about the PMAC during gameday. Sell some stuff inside and make more money if that is the goal.

I don't recall food being sold inside the PMAC before the game. There are vendors set up outside. When you have small kids, the union was just the easiest way to get food for all in one place. It's bad enough that they got rid of the LSU bookstore in favor of Barnes and Noble. When I was a kid, the tradition was to get to campus early, grab lunch or dinner at the union, then stop by the bookstore for some merch.
