Has been a lot of speculation, from new artwork from Yorke and Donwood, to the band forming a new LLP, that something was up. Obviously, fans hopeful for a follow up to A Moon Shaped Pool, thinking maybe this is them touring new material before going to the studio (what they did for In Rainbows). Some speculate it's a farewell tour, but that honestly doesn't sound like them. If they were done, they'd just be done and continue to do all the side projects they've been doing for years.
Excited to see what it is, but not holding my breath for a full blown release.
Incidentally, they'll be releasing a special edition Hail to the Thief Live Recordings CD and vinyl on October 31, limited release.

Hail to the Thief Live Recordings 2003-2009 will be available on streaming platforms HERE today at 5pm BST, and features performances in London, Amsterdam, Buenos Aires, and Dublin. This album is one-off pressing to vinyl and CD, to be released on Friday 31st October. Pre-order HERE - limited edition cyan exclusive to W.A.S.T.E., standard black, plus CD.
“In the process of thinking how to build arrangements for the Shakespeare Hamlet/Hail to the Thief theatre production I asked to hear some archive live recordings of the songs.
I was shocked by the kind of energy behind the way we played and it really helped me find a way forward.
For us, back in the day, the finishing of this record was particularly messy and fraught, we were very proud of it but there was a taste left in our mouths, it was a dark time in so many ways…
Anyway we decided to get these live recordings mixed (it would have been insane to keep them for ourselves) by Ben Baptie, who did an amazing job.
It has all been a very cathartic process, we very much hope you enjoy them.”

They already released some of the songs on Spotify. Can't say i am a fan of the album or this live release, but I would love for a U.S. tour. Saw them about six years ago and it was a great concert.

I saw them at the UNO Lakefront Arena during their HTTT tour. Had a blast, was mesmerized the whole time.
Would love to see them again but I can't see them spending a lot of time over in the states anymore.

I was at the show at UNO. I was asked last minute by a friend to go as someone backed out. I wasn’t into Radiohead at all. That show made me a huge Radiohead fan & I went out & bought all their albums. And I’m a metal head.

So they opened with The Gloaming. And if you're familiar with the CD version, I was perplexed at why they were opening with this non traditional, albeit good, song. Then Phil and Colin dropped the live drum and bass parts and Thom started thrashing around the stage. My mouth dropped, I knew I was in good hands

On a side note, Supergrass opened for them. I was kind of a fan and excited to hear them live, but they didn't play "Late in the Day" and they had this obnoxious bright flood light hit us in the eyes every so often. Was glad when they were done.

They did a great version of "A Drunken Punch-Up at a Wedding" at that show. As God as my witness, it kinda sounded like the theme to The Jeffersons. I've spent years looking for a similar version online.
I went to that show, then the next day I caught a matinee of "Lost in Translation" at Canal Place and went on a date with a Swedish blonde. That was a fun couple of days...

I saw The Smile in New Orleans a couple of years ago and I think Thom Yorke did a solo show in New Orleans a few years before that. I think what it boils down to is a few guys in the band want to tour and a few don't - and they're all in their 50s and they have kids, and I can't imagine any of them live lavishly.
