U of Kentucky stunt team member arrested after her dead newborn was found in her closet.

A 21-year-old University of Kentucky athlete has been arrested after allegedly hiding her dead infant inside a closet.
The Lexington Police Department took Laken Snelling into custody Sunday after officers were "dispatched for an unresponsive infant at a residence in the 400 block of Park Avenue" earlier last week.
"When officers arrived, they located an infant that was pronounced deceased at the scene," police said in a press release. "The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the infant’s cause of death."
Snelling, whom the Lexington Police Department said was the infant’s mother, was charged with abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence and concealing the birth of an infant.

A University of Kentucky spokesperson told Fox News Digital that Snelling "is a senior at UK and a member of the STUNT team."

This was the best she could do. Couldn’t bring it to the hospital? I never understand these cases.

Her shoulders don't match the waist. She going to blow up in prison to 180-190 lbs.

I wasn't implying that there's some excuse. Just wanting to understand how somebody came to do such a horrific thing.

It usually happens more with high school girls but not surprising if some dumb college broad wanted to shirk responsibility, not upset her parents, and just go back to her normal life.

On one of the ON3 paid boards, a guy mentioned that he heard that there was more to it. But the thread got locked with a quickness and his post was deleted.
Saddest part about it is there’s a Safe Haven Baby Box in Lexington and she would’ve been protected under the Kentucky Safe Infants Act in surrendering the baby within 30 days of birth without consequence. But a lot of people aren’t aware of the law and some state legislators have pushed to try to change it.

My comment implies that the saddest part is if the baby was born alive she had the option to drop them off at a Safe Haven Box (or several other locations under the law) where they could be adopted.

It’s sad a collegiate cheerleader could carry a baby to term and not one person questioned her weight gain?
I mean multiple people had to know she was pregnant.
