Bower’s fumble should have been called a targeting

This is why Bowers dropped the ball. Defender led with his helmet and made forceful contact with a defenseless Bowers.
This should have resulted in a first down for LSU and a possible ejection for #8. CBK should ask that #8 be suspended for next game imo.

It’s Bauer. And no. That’s not targeting.

Do you truly believe the bullshite you’re spewing?

I mean maybe. He should have held on to it.
But wouldn’t that play be considered an incomplete pass if Barion’s TD was also incomplete?
We need some answers on that

I’d rather not give targeting any more publicity
It needs to be removed permanently as a penalty because it hasn’t stopped concussions or led to fewer injuries

One of the most overused and "useless" rules in all of college football.

How does someone actually take the time to post something so dumb?..Not even close to "targeting"... This is tackle football.

The defender didn't launch and he led with the shoulder. Crown of helmet / helmet to helmet wasn't a factor. No penalty was committed.

You’d be a good candidate for an SEC officiating job as much as they make the wrong calls.

Yep. Either both are incomplete or both are catches.
Can't rule one way then the other

Not targeting but the OPI flag that got picked up on Clemson's TD drive should have been a blind side block call..

I was under the impression that you weren’t allowed to tackle by making forcible contact with the crown of your helmet against the helmet of a defenseless receiver.
Guess they changed the rules.
This would have been called 10 times out of 9 if it was against a Saban team.

What do you think the avg number of targeting fouls per game was in FBS last year?
