Without AJ what do you think they're offensive play calling will be in the first half, and what do you think our defensive play calling will be like?

Maybe more QB runs since that was our weakness last year. Safety s brought in to counter.

If we win the toss, I think it's 100% we take the ball now. But other than that, we run our offense. I trust Spears to fill the role until A.J. is back in the 2nd half. Hell, Matt M from locked on says Gilbert is finally healthy after playing last year with obe arm. I trust this coaching staff and I trust our team. But no, we don't change our offense, we have Nuss, air that bitch out!!

Exactly. Clemson is doing nothing different in preparation; some of our fans are just being drama queens.

He is the starter. That means he is better than the player that will start in his place.

Did that help?

Pyburn is pretty much a man child when it comes to stopping the run, including QBs. Cade should be contained all game IMO.

More shots early I would guess. If pass rush is good in the first half, we should be okay. Mainly need Jardin, Dashawn, and Javien to tackle well.

I have high confidence in D Spears. That being said I guess I also had confidence in Sage the past few years waiting for him to breakout. Spears is a 5 star guy coming into his second year. I kinda hope they test him and he makes them pay. One more day. Let's get it.

They will test is deep. No doubt in my mind. But I also think they were going to do that early anyway.

Pass rush up the middle will defeat that.

They will go right at Gilbert, lots of QB runs and counter stuff (which they run a lot of anyway I think), and over the top a lot.

LSU needs to RUN THE DAMN BALL. Keep their offense off the field, impose your will on the defense so its a balanced close game for the 2nd half and you can start breaking big runs and passes then

I don’t think AJ is a major factor in stopping the QB run game.

The impact players there are going to be Pyburn, Reliford, Perk, and the Weeks bros. If we get push from the interior, which I think we will this year, Clemson if fricked. Cade flourishes when the interior breaks down and he has running lanes that open up due to a lack of gap control.

The result of this game will not hinge on a safety transfer from Houston

Clemson is going to light up this secondary because it’s a weak link with or without AJ

If im the Clemson OC, I'm running a screen or two to test the discipline up front and on the edge early then going over the top with the same formation if they cheat up. I'd imagine they are going to want to keep Nuss off the field and will be trying to extend drives unless they see something deep.

If LSU can hold their assignments on run plays and short passes / edge runs, it'll make the game much more winnable.

My god. Sure....having a safety that was terrible in coverage and run support last year vs an experienced very good safety. Sure...nothing to see here. Wow
