They just had a show in El Dorado, Arkansas in the past week with Blackberry Smoke opening. I have never understood how the Avetts got popular. It is just not for me.

Love Smoke but wasn't riding up to El Dorado to see them play an hour in front of a band that I don't get. I'm glad they did to expose themselves to more people, but it wasn't for me. And that's OK.

They've always put on a good live show when I've seen them, but I agree that I haven't liked anything they've put out in the last 10=15 years. It's kind of like Wilco. I don't really dig their "new" music (Sky Blue Sky was probably last album of theirs that I really dug, even though it sort of signaled the beginning of the end), but they still put on a hell of a live show that mainly consists of older stuff.

I was a fan up until about 2:43 PM yesterday when I ran across that post. 
Still like their earlier stuff, but have not revisited in quite some time. Don't see any reason to again if that's the direction the art went.

They were pretty solid but fell off hard after the I and love and you album.

Love the Avett brothers saw them during the final four in Nola 2012. Not on my keep up with but they had some great albums. I and love and you is one of my favorites.
