Why do fans make such a big deal about schedule releases with pro teams?

In pro sports, 90% of the schedules are the same each year. You play your division/league teams. Theres rarely some out of the ordinary matchup.
College is different because you can have big OOC games that move the needle.
I keep seeing fans on Twitter posting about MLB schedules like it’s something special. It’s literally the same each year.
What am I missing?

For football, it is my signal to start planning the fall for our family.

Because some people actually go to the games.

my brother in law goes to at least a couple random games per year.
trying to visit all 30 MLB parks
so seeing the schedules to know who's playing where during the summer months when his kids are out of school helps him plan.

My family an I have Saints season tickets, so I schedule trips and the family schedules thanksgiving and Christmas get togethers around the schedule.
I can’t say we make a big deal about it, but we do look at it and plan accordingly when it comes out.
I think it’s more about teams and leagues making a big deal about it for likes and clicks.

It’s related to when the games are (and when you’re playing certain opponents) if you’re planning on going/traveling to watch, not who the opponents actually are.

I know couples that go into together for season tickets, the 3 couples then divided the 162 games up.

Football schedule releases aren't WHO you play...but WHEN you play them that people look forward to finding out.
Some just get excited to see what matchups are going to be in primetime.
Some look forward to the schedule release because they're trying to plan family events and want to avoid the same day as a home game if possible.
Some want to plan a trip that involves catching an away game and need to know what date they'll be playing.
ETA: Only exciting part about NBA schedule releases is to see who's playing on Christmas. No clue why MLB schedule releases would excite anyone though.
