DAT 8/26: Astros (Diesel) vs Rockies (Gordon) 7:10CT SCHN

Out of the sewers came tDAT, Dragon, and Yordan Alvarez. I appreciate all of the kind words with the news of my Dad. Headed to see him this weekend.
This is a very big week to try and separate ourselves from Seattle with Colorado and Anaheim in town.
Week in review:
- Scored 2 runs in 3 games vs the Tigers, including losing 1-0 on a walk-off walk with the bases loaded
- Went scoreless in 3 straight games
- Framber melted again. This time in the first inning. Really tired of his shite attitude and shite pitching
- Seemingly turned it around in Baltimore taking 3/4 after they embarrassed us at home
- Cocksuck hit a HR in 3 straight games. Almost had 4. DYK he led the AL in 2-out RBIS?
- If this team doesn't score 7+ every night, it's probably a loss. Bullpen is so bad. There are no arms left
- tSummer of George continues. 5th consecutive start allowing 2ER or less
- Cam Smith needs a tennis racket. .141/.218/.180 since July 6th
- Chandler if you're reading this, you're still a bitch and your media credential is useless
Injury updates:
- E-sock: rehab
- Trammell: 10-day IL; no clue
- Dezenzo: N/A no update
- Meyers: "close to a rehab assignment" -McTaggart
- Walter: 60-day IL; shut down
- J6 France: Space Cowboys
- Luis Garcia: Space Cowboys
- Hader: out for the season. RIP in peace
- Sousa: 15-day IL; elbow inflammation
Looking ahead:
3 vs Colorado
3 vs Anaheim

The next 2 series will tell us exactly how the rest of the season will go.
They will either get right or it will be a lost cause

Hard to call a MLB series must sweep, but this is about as close as it gets to a must sweep considering opponent and the guys that Astros have going + getting the big man back in the lineup.
Need to get back to winning at home, 6-13 since July 1 at Daikin

What is the plan presently with Parades? Just rehab with a chance to come back for the playoffs?

He's on the 60 day so the earliest he could come back is around 9/19. Without pushing him, I'd imagine they'd like him back up with the big club for the last week of the season to get some at bats and live game reps at second base if they are planning on making the position change before the postseason if they hold on.
Now, you could make him the DH too and have Yordan in the field every day with Tuve at second but that's turning one of the team strengths into a weakness, but having an injured average athletically Parades at a position he's played 53 times in his career and not since 2022 would also weaken the defense.

That makes sense. I forgot the minor league season would be over towards the end of the MLB season, so his only live at bats would be in the majors.

Anything official on Yed yet?

No, but who do we think gets sent down?

Brice probably. He needs to be playing.
Think Melton still plays CF most days against RHP even though he's stinky stinky right now.
ETA: well actually never mind, you can plug Dubon in CF and hit him ninth. Cam probably still needs to be platooned. idk kind of getting log jammed with corner outfielders and Urias is playing pretty well kind of need him out there a good bit.

I'm not a massive fan of the constant interleague games but I do enjoy the possibility of seeing Skenes every other year.

Say it Astros. Give me a positive "we've made the following roster moves" post. Gimme the one I want.

Jake starting a rehab tomorrow. I just hope he can come back ans hit like he was.
TBH I was always skeptical of Jake's sudden hitting success and worried it was just going to poof away at some point. Really hope the injury didn't derail what he had working and he struggles to get it back. We could use what he was doing before. Regardless, his defense should be a welcomed addition. Nobody has been able to replicate his prowess. Chas looks just plain slow in comparison out there.

It's going to be hilarious if he doesn't end up playing. The melt would be spectacular to watch in real time
