I’m in the market for a battery powered sprayer. My old hand pump sprayer is wearing my arm out and I just don’t want that inconvenience anymore. Has anyone tried out the Ego 4 gallon backpack sprayer? The reviews on them are pretty good and I already have the trimmer and blower and a couple of batteries. I feel like the price is a little high since it doesn’t come with a battery but it isn’t much more than some others.

The other one I was considering is the Dewalt sprayer since I also have Dewalt power tools and some batteries. It’s a little ugly to look at but that doesn’t really matter.

I’ve watched YouTube videos on both of these and seems like I can’t go wrong with either.

Is there anything else I should be considering?

ETA: one thing I prefer about the Ego over the Dewalt is the flow control knob is on the handle. That seems much more convenient.

I have a Ryobi that works great. I got it because I already had Ryobi tools and a bunch of batteries. A battery powered backpack sprayer was a game changer. I could not believe how fast I was covering my yard over my old hand pump backpack sprayer.

Look into YardMastery and FlowZone.

No experience with either of those, but I think Flowzone is accepted as the best in that world. I've got one and if it broke tomorrow I'd have another on the way immediately. I spray much more often with it compared to my older hand pump sprayers and it makes the whole process significantly easier. FZ also has an adapter to connect other batteries like Dewalt.

I got this one Vaxmay last year and have been very happy with it. Have sprayed probably 3-4 acres now and haven’t had to charge the battery yet.

if you already have ego tools and batteries than the ego sprayer is a no brainer

That was my initial thought. There's just not much history on it yet since it's a new product. Most of what I'm reading seems positive, though.

I've been looking through some of the others suggested and they all seem to have some positives and negatives. I try to look for common issues when looking at reviews. For example, the Vaxmay sprayer has quite a few bad reviews where leaking is an issue, specifically in the handle. The low price is definitely attractive.

That's good to know. I may have to give this a little more time and consideration before picking one.

Yes - it can leak if it’s not tightened properly. It’s cheap, but functional.

I bought the dewalt two weeks ago and used it this past, it was everything I hoped and dreamed it would be. Comes with all the pattern nozzles, super powerful, comfortable to wear. Should have bought it years ago. Not sure what the ego offers over that but I have large areas to spray and the dewalt didn’t lack for anything.

I don't have experience with those 2, but I bought the Kobalt one from Lowes a few years ago, and it's been a game changer. I've used that thing so much that the harness is falling apart. So that's my biggest complaint. I guess I can replace it, but it's still hanging on for now. Whichever one you buy, you'll love and get a lot of use out of it.

No way I would pay that price for the Ego without a battery. You can usually find a reconditioned Flowzone cyclone or typhoon for under $200. The only difference between the 2 is that the typhoon has a stronger motor and if you aren’t trying to reach siding on a second story or spray up high in a large tree you probably don’t need it. I got the typhoon and it’s pretty bad arse.

I have a FlowZone Typhoon 3 four gallon backpack sprayer and if they make a better sprayer I’d be very surprised because it’s exceeded my expectations times ten. I use various quick connect nozzles from TeeJet which are very convenient. On the highest setting I bet it can stream water 20+ feet. The battery never goes dead even when I use it for countless hours. It doesn’t hurt my back either like other ones I’ve owned. It’s a little pricey at $300, but worth every penny to me because I use it a lot. Sure beats those pump backpack sprayers I’ve owned. I think the box it came in said “Dump The Pump” and I can’t agree more if you have a good size yard. I waste less product too.

I have the dewalt. No complaints. It is pretty damn heavy when full compared to a non powered sprayer. Idk how it compares in weight to others.

Be sure to run water through it everytime you finish to flush out any gunk so you don’t clog up the filter or hose.

This, too^
On top of that -- I’m old, and I have spine trouble. I solved that problem with a cheap little Milwaukee foldable hand cart from Walmart (35.00 at the time).
Walmart doesn’t carry them anymore, but Home Depot has a bunch of different ones

Good luck
