There’s a new seafood and steak restaurant in downtown Covington, The Hampshire. Not sure if they’re open yet, but was curious if anyone had heard anything about it.

Why don't you tell us about your restaurant?

Chef was at Pardo’s and Tchefuncte’s previously

I don’t want to be in the restaurant business. Hopeful this place is good, as we need more/better options in this area.

Stopped in there during white linen. The space is nice and the drinks were good. They have a ticketed wine dinner this week but I don’t think they have a set opening date

Very interested
It's been a while since we've gone that way; hows the construction on the place next to Tavi?
That little block/corner is going to have some great options

It’s framed up and they’re finishing the exterior. They’re moving quickly

I live in Downtown Covington and am very excited about The Hampshire.
I went to the soft opening on 08/15/25 and it was delicious. It was a set 5 course menu and was very good with ceviche, scallop carpaccio, pepper jelly salad, steak, and key lime pie. Drinks were great and service was top notch. The interior is beautiful
I am going this Friday with full menu service and will report back with full review

Walk into restaurant, order:
Beef Tar Tar
Steak Egg Rolls
West and/or East Coast Oysters
Crab Cake
Caribbean Gulf Fish
Shrimps and Grits
Then order something for your date - maybe the Caesar Salad and Lobster Bisque (both great)
Tell them CovingtonCrooner sent you! 5/5

Your ignorance on the matter is staggering.

It’s on New Hampshire Street. Got any better ideas?

The New Hampshire Street Restaurant of course. The location must be in the name for success.
