4, 5 and 6 year olds
I never played much. Have a two-night YouTube degree in age appropriate drills.
Any tips to make it fun and teach well would be appreciated.

Try not to be doing anything where kids are standing around. Or in line for too long.
Keep everyone active as much as you can.
Keep it fun

Just get them to dribble around cones and pass to each other. If you can get kids that age not to chase after the ball like headless chickens, you are doing a great job.

End every practice with 10’ of kids vs parents. It’s good and fun for both teams

Fun face paced games where they get lots of touches on the ball. Knockout, sharks and minnows etc
And that is pretty decent age gap. A 4 yr old and 6 yr old practice can be pretty different

Just get the ball to your biggest fastest player and tell everyone else to get out of the way.

Crocodile game
Get them to pass the ball to each other while saying their teammates names
Dribble around cones
Score goals (2 sets of lines to make it quick, preferably on 2 goals)
Lots of water breaks
End practice 5 min early (parents appreciate this)
Find an asssistant coach (I had two siblings from players help out)

Definitely get some other parents to help out. Keep small groups going 4 or 5 in a group so that everybody is moving. Maybe have 2 or 3 activities going with them rotating to a new activity every few minutes.
No standing around!

I have my first game as goalie on September 10 in an outdoor rec league. Can't be much worse than what this team did last year in the Summer season - they lost their first two matches 7-0 IIRC. I didn't join in time and didn't want to pay the full signup fee and having missed the first 3 matches, so waited for the Fall league.
