Pretty cool and ingenious I think. He's got this little Isuzu stick shift he runs around in a lot.

LOL. I grew up in a body shop my Dad owned. For some reason that made go all nostalgia.
People always said do it cheap as you can.
Well here you go!

Clever. I've wondered what just a 6x6 or 8x8 bolted to the front would look like. If you get on a fever bender just go to the lumber yard and pick out a new one.

I saw someone with a railroad tie as a bumper before. Necks are a resourceful bunch.

It will probably hold up better than the bumpers on 75k-100k$ trucks sold today.

I’ve got one on my ‘76 Cj5. I think it’s pretty cool. It was there when I bought it and I have left it as is. I wish I knew how to post a pic.

Let's see it
Take a pic with your phone. Go to postimages.org
Upload the pic into the website where it asks...then copy the "direct link"
Paste the direct link under "img" when you come back here to post

Thanks. Let’s see if this works.

It used to be pretty common to have a 4X6 or 4X8 wooden bumper or a piece of 4-6" schedule 40 pipe as a front bumper on a pickup. I built a pretty sharp looking wench bumper for my old tahoe out of plywood and carbon fiber....it looked as good as any steel offroad bumper and looked good about 10 years after I built it when I sold the truck.

I knew a guy that had an iron railroad track welded to the frame for the rear bumper on a 2wd pickup. The weight of the iron rail made a huge difference in traction in mud & snow.

Here's the whole truck.
