we might as well count on higher prices at the counter and a down market coming. This thing about the India trucker on FL turnpike killing people has went viral it seems prompting White House response. It happens a lot though on a milder scale but no one talks about it except one night on local news maybe. Another rear end job today close to chicago that sandwiched an SUV and killed 1 , critically injured 2

Is the trucking industry not down? I think these ‘cheap’ truckers are likely extremely cheap and irresponsible companies. Saving $100 or $200 a day on a trucker is not going to move the needle much on the entire daily load cost.

I cannot stand the word “shortage” as it relates to labor markets.

Priced-based markets solve shortages through wage increases.

In the case of a trucker “shortage”, economics would predict that firms bid up wages until demand and supply intersect.

Yet trucking firms instead rely on third world immigrants who are willing to work for reduced pay.

If you are having trouble getting employees, raise your damn wages

There won't be a shortage in three years. Driverless trucks are already on the road. They won't need drivers.

Dirtbag freight brokers, dispatchers and carriers feel the hurt here. Not the shipper or consumer. So basically…all is well.
