Probably a long shot but any of you who happened to travel to Osaka or Tokyo during football season know of a good sports bar to watch some games? I've got a trip coming up in a couple of months and I'm hoping to find somewhere to watch some games instead of from my laptop with a VPN.

Wouldn't any game be on basically in the middle of the night over there? 14 hour time difference

Definitely. Just hoping to at least keep up with whoever LSU plays the couple of weeks I'm there.

I don't know what their TV situation is but I would like to hang out with these people at some point.

use one of the free streaming sites and i dont think you will need a VPN. could most likely convince a local bar to let you screencast it to one of the TV's

Nah. I'm not trying to sit in the room on my devices. Looking for somewhere to watch with the locals.

In the same way we have weaboos here, they have people who obsess over our culture there

Honestly an interesting dynamic

Well considering we'd be about at half time of the first wave of games right now and its 2:45 am in osaka, and the Japanese culture at large probably doesn't appreciate college football, good luck finding that

Locals probably aren't watching LSU vs Louisiana Tech at 8:30AM on a Sunday Morning.

Google tells me there are some places that MAY air some football games including college.

There's a place called Good Ole Tennessee Bar that is focused on Tennessee Athletics, but they may show some other games

This is a fantasy. It’s going to be between 6 and 9 AM. You can take your laptop to the breakfast lounge in the hotel if you want to be around people. TGI Fridays might have been a decent option if it wasn’t for the time difference.

The hours will work against you...but here is the Armed Forces Japan tv link

LINK

They show most big games...so if you are at a bar with TV they may show..

Good luck...

I have watched the college world series during breakfast at the hotel on their TVs, so anything is possible.

14 hour time difference (13 hours duering Standard Time) from Central here. An 8pm kickoff Saturday night is 10am Sunday morning over there. Noon here is 2am there. There may be some places, but timing makes it tough for live games.

I used to run a couple of sports bars in Okinawa for the US military and it was next to impossible to get American GI's to come in at 5am for live sports when they could just stay on base and watch on their laptops or AFN.

Kind of doubtful you're going to find a sports bar in Tokyo for that game.
