Misery, is all some of us have. Its why we will never change. Clinging miserable state is something we can predit and deal with. Success doesnt work for the majority of us. Only lurking in the dark, beneath the surface.

Who's under the most pressure: Coach Kellen Moore

The first-year coach has a big task of turning things around and getting the Saints to the playoffs for the first time since 2020.

I typically like Kat's work, but she's dead wrong here for 2025 at least.

There is absolutely zero pressure for Kellen Moore to make the playoffs in 2025 or likely 2026 by anyone that matters. 25 and 26 are cultural and roster reset years. I doubt there is even a wins/losses expectation for this year.

In reality.

I know the board will claim he is a de facto owner, but if anyone is on the hot seat this season, wouldn't it be Loomis? He is responsible for the cap situation; he was the one that decided to hire DA after Payton, then brought in an unproven Moore; he takes ultimate responsibility for the roster, of which 75+% was inherited by Moore

Yes, Moore will be the last HC hire by Loomis, but no one is really on the "hot seat" for 2025. Everyone understands that the team is rebuilding and it will take time. Everyone except some fans, which is way I said;

"There is absolutely zero pressure for Kellen Moore to make the playoffs in 2025 or likely 2026 by anyone that matters."

By the end of 2026 the cap should be cleaned up and we should have a good core of young players to build with. The 2027 season IMO will be the first season where true wins/playoffs expectation will be scrutinized. Not saying playoff or bust, but in 2027 if this team is not showing real competitiveness and really pushing for divisions titles there's a problem.

Will the Saints tank in hopes to getting Manning?

I agree, I want the Saints to win every game. But with the roster as constructed, we won’t. We will probably finish near last. I’ll never understand why on people get bashed when they want the saints to not mess up potential for a draft pick.

Hey I want to win too, wouldn’t it be great if we drafted higher and got this great player who could make us better? No we would rather beat the panthers week 17 smh. At some point, we have to face reality and that we need to suck, so we can get a top pick, preferably no1 to get a QB and along with other talent. It doesn’t make me a bad fan. If we go 0-17 I won’t be happy we lost every game, but I’ll be happy because of the potential we can achieve coming out of it.

If we are 0-14 and we win the last 3 games, and go from 1 to 5 in our draft, well of course that’s great they won, but what does that get the franchise moving forward? We tell kids not to spoil their dinner, but every year the saints seem to spoil their own dinner.
