I’m inclined to believe him as this wasn’t brought up after those losses/during those seasons. It’s an interesting tid bit that could either validate the grace we have given him the last three years or it
could bite him in the arse hard if they lose again

Previous LSU teams under Kelly couldn't begin game prep until the week of. This team has been able to begin game prep earlier (last Tuesday) because of so many settled positions.

Not sure this is something he should admit. I understand needing to get your own team buttoned up, but he said he only prepped for USC for 5 days.
What? You have to figure your own team out sooner. At some point you have what you have and you have to prep for the fricking game

He always seems to have an excuse but has yet been able to fix or pivot to correct the issues. He must come up with those will converting his $10 mil to gold bars.

He basically says it all depends on if they know what they have and how the players can be utilized. More unknowns… preparations for game 1 start later. Less unknowns… preparations for game 1 start sooner.

We all need to remember, most of the guys the last 3 years were not his guys. Some were but most not… now we got his guys and will see what he can do.

Kelly says he didn't have enough veteran players until this year to begin prep for the first game until the week of the game.
Last year, they spent 5 whole days prepping for USC, and it showed.
This year, he has finally realized that not being prepared for the first game of the season puts your team in a hole, so they are already beginning to do some Clemson prep.
Maybe it will make a difference. All I know is LSU has seemed like the less prepared of the two teams in all three of his opening games so far.

I feel like with "pay to play," this is less of a thing now. I may be wrong.
