I wasn't going to do this. But as I was sitting in the dining room at a local restrunt enjoying a BBQ sammitch, who should start speaking directly to me over the radio but our old friend Casey Kasem. I'm reminded of his particularly poignant words that certainly seem to apply here...
"I've never loved listening to music."
Really makes you think doesn't it? We're gonna be alright. Thanks Casey.

Can Costanza run out a third straight gem? We're gonna need it.

Offense by the numbers this season:
- 18th in Runs
- 18th in RBI's
- 16th in Home Runs
- 3rd in Singles
- 19th in Doubles
- 26th in Walks
- 24th in Stolen Bases
- 15th in Sac Hits
- 16th in Sac Flys
- 20th in LOB (1 good, 30 bad)
- 29th in GIDP (only the As have more)
The only thing this team can do well, and even that is questionable, is hit singles

Amazed that this team is still in first place. Pitching is starting to fall apart though. Our hitting has been suspect for a while.
But they keep coming through it all. Go Stros.

This is Casey Kasem, back with another heartfelt Long Distance Dedication. Tonight, we’ve got a special request from a devoted Astros fan dining out in Houston, Texas, with a message for their team’s manager. Here’s what they had to say:
"Dear Casey,
I’m a die-hard Astros fan, out dining and listening to tunes at my favorite wing joint. I'm annoyed though since our manager, Joe Espada, seems to be dozing at the wheel—folks are calling him ‘Sleepy Joe’ around here! With the season in full swing, we need him to snap out of it and steer the Astros to victory. I’m dedicating ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends' by Green Day to Joe Espada, hoping instead it might rouse him out of his usual trance before the season’s over!"
Signed, A Wing-Eating Astros Fan
Well, Wingman, we’re with you! Let’s send this vibrant tune to Joe Espada to shake off that slumber and lead the Astros to glory. From 2005, rising to #6 on the Billboard Hot 100, here’s ‘Wake Me Up When September Ends' for ‘Sleepy Joe’—let’s get those bats swinging and keep reaching for the stars!"

Yed has contracted cholera
Joe chose to ford the river. The wagon flooded.
Isaac has typhoid fever
The oxen are exhausted
Isaac has died
The wagon has a broken tongue
Jeremy has dysentery
An oxen has died
Josh died crossing a river
Lance has a hangnail
Lance has gas
Lance didn't sleep well
Lance didn't get his cappuccino
Lance wants to watch E!

No Sanchez against the rhp. Would rather Caratini over Diaz

Josh Hader said it would take him three weeks to build up after not throwing for the next three weeks, so don’t expect to see him in the regular season. Playoffs remain a possibility.

Also, Meyers is close to a rehab assignment and Paredes is here in Houston and has been riding a bike.

Trying to draw conclusions from the Astros is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Randomly taking eight at bats but I want to feel something good so I’m going to believe that the next step is a rehab assignment until proving otherwise.

I don’t even try anymore. When they are back with the big club, I’ll pay attention.

Mets up 3-0 on the Mariners heading to the 9th.
Eugenio Suarez just destroyed a homerun off of Edwin Diaz.
3-1 with one out.
Mariners lose 3-1.

M’s just did an Astros impression. Mets rookie starter, just called up, goes 5.1 innings of two hit, no run baseball.

So, one would think that tonight won’t be as bad as last night, but our boys have a way of topping themselves.
