Me too, but I think 10x 300k is where we need to be, that would include government contractors.

It’s a start. Tank the job number by gutting the blob and then lower rates due to job numbers.

I'd like to see a well-conceived study of total government "directed" employment, so not just direct hires and contractors, but also staffing in the private sector to make remain compliant with federal laws/regs.

I wonder how big fedgov's footprint really is on the overall economy.

I was reading the other day that NWS/NOAA will be hiring 450 people. After all the bluster, firing of "probationary" employees who had been with the department for years and years, mistakes that were made, etc. it will all result in, at best, 100 less employees.

There is approximately a 0 percent chance you could articulate how this will benefit you in any way

So the entire federal workforce?

He said including contractors.

The total federal workforce including contractors and military (1.3 million) is between 9 and 10 million. Lopping 3 million off the top sounds like a good start.

Which ones specifically?

I’m all about cutting the waste and reducing the role of government but let’s get specific here. Which agencies and departments? Which contractors?

There’s a 100% chance you are wrong as usual.

Less bureaucrats and regulators in the federal government improves the overall business climate in the country, which improves the economic condition of everyone in the private sector.

If I may..

One less government employee is a start for my tax reduction.

More importantly….EVERY frickING GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE has the potential to frick up my life by regulation or something of the sort.

Including the potus.

You probably wouldn’t believe it, but soon after the last election - investment in the continuation of internal combustion engines suddenly happened in my case.

What changed?

Are you expecting to be mailed a check when people get fired after your president increased the deficit by trillions of dollars again?

Your comment reflects a fundamental misunderstanding of the structure of our government. The framers never intended to create a large federal government of bureaucrats and regulators. They designed a limited federal government with a very limited purpose with the majority of governmental functions bring left to the states and the people. It’s a shame you never had a proper education on American government and the founding.

The framers also knew that they couldn't predict the future and the government has to be flexible. I'm not sure why people think everything has to be exactly as it was in the 1700s which is obviously a much different time.

It's comical how disconnected MAGA is from reality.

Well, let's start with the 3 janitors in the Burry Building on the EPA campus in McClean, Virginia.

Then let's get rid of ...

I thought your request was funny.

When you're talking about 9-10 million people working in an enterprise as ridiculously ineffective/inefficient as the federal government, you cut big numbers on a piece of paper and let those that run those departments figure out how best to accomplish it.
