Haven’t had a corner with this level of athleticism and ball skills since Derek Stingley. Don’t see how he’s not out there from snap 1 @clemson.

I think Stamps and Pickett are the 2 boundary CBs and Delane is Nickle.

ETA: I’m not saying Delane isn’t a starter, I’m saying when in nickel, he is probably best suited for that role if the other DBs are better at boundary and not at nickel.

Experience. He likely won’t start game 1.

Can 100 percent get behind this. Think pj will be out there on Dime sets. I like the idea of Pickett and Stamps’s length vs Moore/Wesco and delane’s quickness and physicality vs Williams

The last two 5 star corners that have come to lsu under Corey Raymond (Derek Stingley , Eli ricks ), were day 1 starters. Corey Raymond has repeatedly shown he will start stud corners from day 1 enough with the seniority crap Pickett is your most talented corner and you’re arguably facing the best wr trio we’ll see all year. Best on best over experience that simple

He may not "start" vs. Clemson, but he will play.

Does Clemson have a super tall WR? Might play that matchup if so

Delane has enough good tape against power 5 competition to probably lock down 1 of the corner spots.

Pickett’s raw talent and ball skills are on level above stamps. Add in that he’s supposedly been putting on weight to a 6-5 frame, and I just don’t see how Raymond keeps him off the field. He has the tools to swing a game with a turnover like Stingley did, that idk if our other DBs have. In a tight game against a team like Clemson on the road, that could be the difference.

I could see a scenario where stamps starts the game but Pickett needs the reps early and often.

You expected him to high point a ball that was a step behind him??

This is easily the best secondary we’ve had in a very long time, arguably just as good if not better than some of the secondaries from Miles’ teams. The agility and speed is night and day compared to last year.

Burns and Ryan brought the defense down to such a low level that it basically guaranteed the opposing team extra points before the game even started.

Why, because true freshman aren't good enough to start gm 1 in college? I guess Stingley waited a few games??
