Sports Illustrated
Angel Reese just hit her highest card sale ever at $30K, crushing her previous record of $8,500.
Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark rookie card sold for $660,000, breaking her own previous women’s sports card record of $366,000, becoming the most valuable women’s sports card of all time.
Poor Angel, always in the shadow

While still a significant uptick from her former record, many are noting the vast difference in market value brought in from Clark’s sale––with Sports Card Investor posting to their X account that the number is less than 5% of Clark’s final amount.
But while Clark and Reese both carry heavy weight in the WNBA space, when it comes to the bottom line, there is no one player in the league that comes close to the numbers Clark generates.
She is a next-level superstar whose gravity is felt not only on the court, but even when she’s off it. Clark has missed more than half of the 2025 season out with injuries, yet still possesses the influence to obliterate sale records.

Wait until Topps makes a card of Kelsey Plum kicking the dildo off the court

This has to hurt your ego after the year+ you have spent saying Angel Reese had no effect on WNBA popularity.
30k for a card is wild.

This WNBA shtick is almost as bad and the Avery/Jerry Judge homo-erotica.

Sports card or trading card fwiw. Sports cards aren't playing cards given it's not a game you play with them. Been collecting for 20+ years so that just bugs me a little
I have quite a bit invested in sports cards. I have never spent a $1 on WNBA cards. The person that bought that card has throw away money so it doesn't really matter what he paid for it, but that card won't be worth 1/4 of that in 10 years.

He is on a mission to prove that Caitlin Clark is more popular than Angel Reese which isn't rocket science. As if that some how means that Reese is not popular at all or something. Not really sure what the end game is.

Its the equivalent of saying Todd Graves isn't rich because Bezos is worth more.

I had a buddy who went to the National card show in Chicago a couple of weeks ago.
He said he was shocked at the amount of WNBA cards being sold and traded. Said he saw a lot of young kids in Clark jerseys.

There’s really no end game. Just pointing out something that’s never happened before. The details are all in the op lol

I don’t really need to prove something that’s fact lol
