If the United Methodist Church wants to help people who are outside the church (unbelievers) that’s great. Go out into the communities to show others love and help others receive the Word of God.

But Sunday should be all about the Word of God, doing God’s will. Not bending to what the society praises (lgbtq and watered down doctrines).
Bring the people from outside into the church so that they may live by God’s Word.

I had to leave the UMC (the church I grew up in) and I am trying my best not looking back. Sorry my rant.

It's disappointing when churches adopt a seeker friendly stance from behind the pulpit during worship hours.

Good thing about churches though, there's plenty out there and I do hope you find your new home soon!

Remember, God's work cannot be done man's way.

Don't change scripture to fit the people, change the people to fit scripture

I'm a Christian and was raised Catholic but at this point I don't really affiliate with any specific church because they're all corrupt in some way. Just my opinion. All churches inject some sort of their own "spin" to the faith.

Well... I do believe that's why he's leaving... Gospel ought not be for sale.

Serious question... how do you fellowship? I ask this having sat out at my own church for probably a year now and struggle with knowing I am called to and need, fellowship.

We are all corrupt in some way (we are all sinners). But you can’t isolate yourself from others.

There's no shadow of turning in God.

His character, promises, love, faithfulness, and purposes do not change; He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

But churches change to keep members and gain new ones for more money.

Yes, I am leaving because the UMC does not follow Christian doctrine.

Luckily for me, there is a Global Methodist Church in Asheville that adheres to the traditional doctrine. GMC has nothing to do with all the woke/queer stuff. Small in number, but big in faith.

Our UMC leadership first promised to allow the congregation to vote on the issue, repeated that for a year, then announced “we decided NOT to allow a vote. WE decided, and we are choosing the LGBT route”

The church that had three services every Sunday with about 175 per is now one service every Sunday with about 40

Sounds like more of an excuse not to go to be honest. There are many churches that are lead by great pastors.

My dad’s been telling me to run for my life for a while now.

My wife and I agreed to leave after a lot of discussion. I only wish we would have done it sooner.

Scripture tells us to forsake not the assembling of yourselves together. You need other brothers in the Lord to be accountable to and to help others in their walk.

Kind of strange considering this happened with Covid.

And the way people, including Christians, wanted to isolate the unvaccinated.

I know, hence my struggle. I need to get myself and family back to assembling. I am tired and lazy. Covid and wonky management and staff changes did a number on my church... I'm torn between returning or finding a new home.
