This is like being upset because your credit card company has raised your credit limit.

You are nearly incompetent. Just shut up and go away.

Libs are only concerned about the debt ceiling when they aren’t in power. It’s where it is due to Marxist/dem control of the congress and white house.

K. What does Elon know.

quote:

Elon Musk has been vocal about his opposition to raising the U.S. debt ceiling by $4 trillion, viewing it as a contributor to unsustainable government spending and a ballooning national debt. He has expressed deep concern about the U.S. national debt, which he noted has exceeded $36 trillion, describing it as “terrifying” and warning that it could lead to “debt slavery” for Americans. Musk criticized a proposed bill that included a $4 trillion debt ceiling increase, calling it a “disgusting abomination” and arguing it would massively increase the budget deficit to $2.5 trillion. He has emphasized that all government spending is effectively taxation, either directly or through inflation, which he considers particularly harmful to those with limited means.

SO you would rather have the endless government "shutdown" Kabuki every 6 months?

That is stupid.

Wrong. The OBBB increased the debt ceiling by $5T.

But don't act like this is a unique scenario happening only under Trump. The debt ceiling has been raised multiple times under every President from Woodrow Wilson through now.

Trump has already done far more to try to cut federal spending by cutting jobs, offering buyouts, going after fraud, etc. than any other President I know of.

Do you really believe that Trump won because of only the MAGA vote?

Many independents voted for him because they believed he would do something about the deficit. Remember when he was pals with Elon and they were going to use Doge to balance the budget?

The Republicans have done nothing with their opportunity other than dealing with the immigration issue. (Which really was just enforcing the laws)

They should enjoy the moment because I suspect they will lose Congress in the midterms.

I thought Trump was going to be different.

He could have veto’d the bill.

Apparently not.

Paying a trillion dollars a year in interest is stupid.

Do you have to shut the government down? How about reduce spending?

That is small potatoes!

While Ronnies debt load was impressive at the time, DJT is now #1 for a single 4 years and Sleepy Joe is #2. I have a feeling both those numbers will be broken during this DJT term.

I am old but if you are young the 2 most pressing issues for the USA is foreign policy and debt load. The rest of it is just a smokescreen to distract from this 2 issues.

Abortion
Guns
Border
DEI
Gerrymandering
Epstein

All just fluff to distract you.

This is only small potatoes when compared to all the unfunded federal debt.

The health of the monetary system is my primary concern. I’m not worried about the distractions.

Our debt to GDP is insane.
