I saw where we currently have the second best odds for the #1 pick next year.

Nacho's bat doesn't play at this level, unfortunately

Him being our 3rd ranked prospect says alot about how AA has fricked up the farm in recent years.

The teams with the red circle / are ineligible because of anti-tanking rules.

Supposedly the draft next year is going to have a lot of talent. That's just going from what I've read.

His velo has been down this year for sure. I don't remember a lot of late movement on his pitches prior to his injury.

But yeah, I'm afraid you're right. If his velo doesn't get back up or expand his arsenal in the off seaaon he's nothing special.

It was a very dumb extension from the get go.

Hopefully we can catch the White Sox. If Baldwin could somehow get hot and win ROY we could be really set up with pool $$.

Good base running by Nacho there.

It’s nice to see Eli get some run at lead off, profar has been a totally moron move by AA god willing we can move that contract in the off season.

White is out of options so he is basically playing to be a 4th outfielder next year or potentially starting left fielder

Be nice if we had actually traded Ozuna so Murphy and Baldwin could fully tag team DH and catcher, but instead we have AA being dumb and Snit will cost Drake tons of ABs the rest of the way. And he'll have a fight with Collins from the Brewers for ROY.

But hopefully he can get hot down the stretch and overcome that.

Baldwin is going to get way more AB's than Ozuna, considering he's now officially a lame duck in a lost season.

It's not a bad contract at all.

I actually think it was a great signing by AA that really blew up in his face.

Not necessarily disagreeing with ya, but why do you think that?

Even if you adjusted his stats for this season to say 150 games, it looks like an overpay to me.

I would of rather had that money spend on SS, and this isn't a hindsight thing either. I said that on like page 2 or 3 of the offseason thread.

He's averaging like 16m per season IIRC. That's nothing for a dude that, coming in, was a ~.750 OPS guy.

We needed/still need a SS, but there was no FA available at that price range. Only way to swing that was with a trade, but AA depleted the farm in trading for a Freddie replacement and, inexplicably, getting older at C.

That's besides the point, Baldwin will still lose ABs to Ozuna, because Snit is gonna Snit. There was zero reason for Ozuna not to be moved, even if it was for a dozen baseballs and two dozen bats.

And Collins already had a WAR advantage over Baldwin coming into this game.

There's no rhyme or reason to this. You're just projecting

He's not going to lose out on the ROY because Ozuna DH's every 3rd or 4th day.

Getting less ABs leads to less potential for stats, it's pretty common sense. He could very easily lose ROY because he gets a game or two less ABs a week the rest of the way. An extra 50ish ABs is a pretty big difference in counting stats, which the voters still pay attention to, whether they should or not.
