So, I follow the local media guys, and their practice reports every day. There are so many hot takes from these guys. Especially this early in camp. Blake Ruffino thinks are Oline is going to suck. Matt Moscona thinks are guys are talented but need time to mesh. The truth has to be somewhere in the middle. Where are we when it comes to the offensive line? It still early in camp and from my experience it usually takes time for the line to come together. Has anyone been to practice?

The Weeks interview illegally posted this morning didn’t give me optimism. You could tell he was trying to be nice.

LSU played with a totally different line against Baylor in the bowl game and did just fine and Aranda does a great job mixing up looks

I think they will be adequate this season

Arent these pretty similar. One is reporting off todays performance, one is just saying they are talented enough to improve. Kinda the same take. If one were saying they are dominant and the other saying they stink, that would be conflicting.

Well your first problem is that you are listening to two guys that specifically try to have bold takes and say "I told you so" whenever they can...

I don't think they question will be if they can handle a Baylor like team. I think the question is can they handle a Clemson, Texas, Ohio State, Georgia type team.

Good lord I hate this time of year

Yea man, we have some real o-line experts on Tigerdroppings that have been to practice and can also share their evaluations here

Do people not realize how crazy threads and questions like this sound?

Pay site. Basically said they’re rotating a lot and he knows they’re talented individually and he’s confident they’ll figure it out.

I haven't really seen much positive about the o-line's performance in camp so far from any local media members.

They're a talented group, just a question of if it'll all come together. Nothing sinks a season faster than a bad o-line with a pocket QB. Hopefully they just need time to mesh.

There are way too many people that are overreacting. The Catastrophe syndrome is alive and well.

They have had six practices and ONE in Full pads. They are constantly shuffling the line...trying to find the best combination. Of course they're going to have issues with all of the moving around.

The Defense is obviously ahead of the Offense at this point.

Here was the Offensive line in the bowl game:

Adams
Mubenga
Chester
Bordelon
Frazier

After the First drive they Subbed in Echols for Bordelon.

They had Bowl practices to get ready to play with two new Tackles.

They passed for 313 yards with no sacks and Ran for 114 yards. They also won the game 44-31 against a decent Dave Aranda defense.

It's super early. These 5 guys haven't played as a unit before. They are taking a little time to gel. They also only had 6 practices and yesterday was the first contact allowed. They also haven't practiced long. Mostly like 1 hour practices.

These next two weeks will be way more telling then the first one.

It will not be a bad OL it will not be good. It’ll be average, and most OL’s are these days. Last year’s OL couldn’t run block to save their life but great pass blocking. This year will be better run blocking and step back pass blocking. We have young talent and some experienced P4 guys. We have 3.5 weeks to go, I’m not too worried.

We also have some physical freaks going up against these guys. That will make them better.
