How long has that been going on?
WTH? Is it 10, 15, 20 years?
That part of the highway a long with the corner of Sullivan and Hooper has turned into a complete shite hole.

I would say it’s probably been about 10 years

It's like they started 10 years ago and it really seems like they haven't done a damn thing, and I mean NOT A DAMN thing since.

I have heard that too but did they just give up?

I mean big sections of new road is pretty good considering how long the project was halted
They are out there 7 days a week & pouring concrete at night
I’m not 100% but it was a drainage issue between state, engineers, drainage board….maybe when they started they realized what they planned for wouldn’t work
Basically years & years of the blame game & who was at fault & how to proceed

Was going on before my daughter went into the first grade at Tanglewood. She starts her jr year in high school on Thursday!!

It’s ridiculous how long it takes to fix a problem with a road. I believe the intersection at Sullivan and Hooper was terrible before they started…

I live in Florida. My parents still live in Central off Gurney. I come to visit parents and everytime I come in it’s exactly the same for the past 15 years. Saying that, they actually lare laying concrete like some of you have mentioned.

They stopped work for a while when they couldn't figure out where groundwater was coming from.
What sucks is they didn't finish Sullivan before getting started on Wax so the whole area is a traffic shitshow that is about to get a lot worse with school starting.

It's pathetic. Was part of central's initial strategic plan, backed by "a traffic study" [performed nearly 20 years ago] to have sullivan widened, have hooper widened, and have wax widened.
All should have been done YEARS ago.
Matter of fact, they should also have a hooper rd to watson (LA1019 or LA16) bridge in place by now, too.
P&Z/council/mayor keep allowing residential development and keep screwing up logical necessary infrastructure improvements. But they got that city hall going in on the donated schoolboard property.

It’s actually going pretty quick now.
They had a few redesigns I believe and had to wait on sewer utilities to be completed.
