Heading to Vietnam for a week next month, staying in District 1 Ben Thanh area.
Mainly things to do in the area or a little further out if worth it is okay too. Like to adventure around a lot and try to see as much as I can.

have fun ho chi minh is awesome. I dont remember any specific thing I did but I know I did a tour of some of the battle sites that had tunnels. There was also some type of war museum that I went to. besides that I had the most fun just riding around on a scooter and eating the food. The food is reallly good especially the vietnamese french bread.

Book a food tour on motorbike. Was one of my favorite things I did there. War Remnants Museum was interesting. Independence Palace was really neat as well.

If you are fan of Japanese food, there are some really good and tucked away spots in Japan Town. Which is also a bit wild at times.
Have a drink at the famous Caravelle rooftop bar where the war correspondents used to hang. Get over to District 3 and check out some spots .... cool area.
Great city to walk, eat and drink the days and nights away. And if you are single, watch out for an even better trip.

Only spent 3 days in Ho Chi Minh City before flying back to ATL. We spent almost 3 weeks in Phan Theit on the South China Sea for our son's wedding. Dalat, Da Nang etc up there touring.
In HCM my favorites were the War Remenants Museum, the Saigon Skydeck at the top of the tallest building in the city, a night time walking street food tour thru old town HCM, a day time jeep tour to the Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Presidential Palace and several temples.
Have tons of pics but won't bore you, lol...
Beautiful Country and very nice people, my son and his wife wife will be retiring there in about 10yrs...

Recommendation:
It’s Saigon. Ho Chi Minh was a genocidal commie.

Yeah Ho Chi Minh has been on my list for awhile so I'm pumped. Definitely going to bike and walk all over and eat a ton of food. War museum sounds good and some sky bars of course.
