Played this course today. Fun layout. Robert Trent Jones Sr design. Nice mature course with big fairways. Descent greens that were fast. Will be back for the price and interesting holes. What say the golf board

What is the cost?

I played it a long time ago. Back in the late 80s or early 90s. For the time, as I recall it was relatively pricey. I played with a member/resident of Timberlane so I don’t remember if you could just get on it without having a member with you.

It's certainly better than it was last year.

I wouldn’t expect anything else from a descent green.

Was the up-and-comer in the 80's before English Turn. Great Front 9. Back 9 is a little more mundane. Glad to hear the greens were good when you played it. Easy to root for Timberlane. Head pro gives the golf course to the local HS girls teams for their matches on Mon afternoons in the Spring. That's quite a good deed for a daily fee course these days!

Agree on Timberlane a former hidden gem that at one time ranked in top 100 courses in the US (Golf Digest). Not many Louisiana courses (I recall The Bluffs and maybe Southern Trace) have had that distinction.

That said a west bank course with Lapalco running though it was never going to remain elite.

The front 9 is interesting and overall very good for the price. The back 9 isn't horrible, but it's a marked step down from the front 9. Feels like you're playing two different 9 hole tracks.

For a course open to the public in the NOLA area, it's pretty good.
