Do you have an inner dialogue?

Research suggests that 30% to 50% of people regularly experience an inner monologue or inner dialogue — that is, the internal voice that narrates thoughts, debates choices, or talks through ideas.
However:
Not everyone has an ongoing inner dialogue. Some people think more in images, abstract concepts, or feelings rather than in words.
A 2020 study led by Russell Hurlburt, a psychologist at the University of Nevada, found that inner speech is just one of several common modes of consciousness, and even people who do have it don't experience it constantly.
Some people have episodic inner speech — it comes and goes depending on the situation (like during stress or decision-making).
Summary:
30%–50%: Regular inner monologue
Others: May have episodic or minimal inner dialogue, and rely more on non-verbal thought
There’s no universally agreed-upon number, but it's clear that having an inner voice isn't universal, and lacking it is not abnormal.
How Inner Monologues Work, and Who Has Them
I have no inner monologue. I was shocked when I found out others do.
Mine won't STFU, so I find it interesting that so many walk around with no inner dialogue happening.

Until this moment I didn’t realize there were people who don’t have an inner dialogue going on almost constantly.

To the point of borderline insanity.

My inner voice thought everyone did the same

So filtered speech or unfiltered?

Yes, I have full-on conversations with myself working through things.

Are you asking if my inner dialogue says inappropriate stuff?

This came up on a post here a while ago and it blew my mind that some people don't have an inner monologue. WTF is going on in their heads? How do they think through things? I can't fathom what it's like to not have that voice in my head.

inner dialogue going on almost constantly
I constantly have trouble sleeping. I tell her it’s because I can’t get my mind to shut up and shut down for the night. My wife cannot understand it. She can sleep anywhere anytime. Maybe she has little to no inner dialog while I live with a chatty arsehole in my head.

I have conversations in my head all the time.

One of my biggest social fears is that i unconsciously start verbalizing my inner dialogue in front of others without realizing it.

I always thought everyone did.
I asked my wife if her inner dialogue is in English or her native language, Javanese. She told me it's a hybrid of the 4 languages she can speak. That just seems too confusing to me. I can barely talk to myself in English.
