Biggest area of concern heading into early part of season

If this was like most recent seasons, I would pick an area on the defense no question, but this season it's the other side of the ball that has me most concerned. Unlike in years past when we had two lockdown tackles in Campbell and Jones, LSU will basically be starting an entirely new OL and that's a big concern, especially when you have an immobile QB and a WR group that doesn't have a bonafide stud returning. Chris Hilton and Aaron Anderson are very talented, but have yet to show they can be that No. 1 WR we can count on.
I feel like we have a lot of talent at the OL position, but they lack what is most important in being a great OL - chemistry and trust - and that takes times. I think it's safe to say opposing DCs are going to throw a variety of different blitz packages to identify our weak spots. The key will be how quickly we can make adjustments during each game and gradually over the course of the season build that chemistry that is needed to win in the SEC and the CFPs.
The good news is the OL still has a month to work together and improve and I'm confident Coach Davis, who had four OL drafted in last year's draft, will have that unit ready to roll when they visit Death Valley Junior!

The biggest area of concern is Clemson! I do not see a path to the playoffs if we lose this game.

What? LSU is most likely in with 3 losses, 100% in with 2 losses. This take is ridiculous

And with this schedule, you only see one more loss after the Clemson loss?

There are a lot of areas that we should be concerned about. This team on paper looks good, but we don’t play on paper.
We have to build a tesm. Certainly this rebuild began early this year, but until we actually things and things work out; there are plenty of areas to be concerned about.

Your OL Thesis/Dissertation is total Pumptard Fantasy Nonsense. You're living in a Rosy Alice in Wonderland Fantasy World if you actually believe everything you wrote.

Bro relax. LSU is gonna be solid even if they lose the opener.

Biggest question mark heading into the season in my opinion is has Kelly & Sloan revamped the offense sufficiently to consistently get the ball out of Nuss' hand quickly and has there been some creativity added to the run game to not be so vanilla and predictable enough to be effective.
Last year it was so frustrating watching us run the same shitty handoff up the middle or off tackle from the shotgun for one or two yards and then line up and do it again on 4th down only to get stuffed.
Seemed like our running game last year was an afterthought or something. Like yall had all off season to draw up a few more plays than that huh?
IMO, I think we all have confidence in the roster being plenty loaded this year to be wildly successful. We have the horses on both sides of the ball.
If Joe Brady was our OC this coming season I would be booking rooms for the playoffs. Based on last year's production, or lacj thereof, in the run game, I am gonna hold off and see what the staff has drawn up.

Our new unproven O-line with against their D-line with 2-3 projected top 15 picks in the draft

LOL I literally stopped reading here.
#1, I was watching clips on facebook of when Nuss did start running later in the season. He actually is athletic, so OP is an idiot. He is also pretty damn good at moving around in the pocket...which OP ignored as well.
As for the WRs and no studs, this is comical. We are loaded, again, just like every year for the last several years. One thing I'm not worried about is NUSS or our WRs, as long as we stay healthy.

they suddenly get great? Their defense sucked last year.

Joe Brady is almost like Will Wade. Joe Brady was fine when he had several future hall of famers on the field. Not so much at times when he moved on. Also, Slinger was a big part of that, and most of you people give him little to no credit.
Where would you be booking your room? Baton Rouge?

depending on the losses, they should be...but they won't. committee will put an SMU that won't have a top 10 win, hell maybe not a top 20 win...or an Arizona St again, who wont have a top 25 win, and will got 11-1 or 10-2......or...Notre Dame....Notre Dame has two tough games....LOL....(they are calling them tough). They play Miami and A&M to open the year...if they can get by them, they only have Arkansas later in the year, or potentially USC. LOL. That is their toughest 4 games. Notre Dame should NOT be in the playoffs at 10-2, hell no, no way....but they will.

Biggest area of concern heading into early part of season
Call me Doubting Thomas until I/we see:
The RB's taking advantage of big lanes provided by the O-line.
A Defense that can get off the field and not be a labiality.
A Special Teams unit that can flip the field punting/receiving.

I agree the OL is my biggest concern and I do think most here have and will agree. I do think as the year progresses it will get better and better, because there is some talent there, but O-lines need to play together to get better - the first game will be a huge challenge for them.
My second concern is how all the transfers mesh in and team chemistry because of it. The talent has been upgraded significantly, but as we saw with Ole Miss last year, who I think you can honestly say had as much overall talent as anyone in the SEC and that's not an exaggeration.....lot's of transfers can also create some internal dysfunction.
From all I've heard we've done a good job of creating a good chemistry, but one loss could test that quickly.

I too think it is cute when our fans think we are Bama. We are not. We can't lose 3-4 games and be put in over a team that is unbeaten or just lost one game.

I actually do think we can. Ole Miss and Bama all bitching because they didn't get in with 3 losses....well Bama lost to Vandy and Ole Miss lost to Kentucky you can't have a loss like that in your 3 and bitch about it.
I do believe an SEC team can get in with 3 losses, but it depends on who those 3 losses are to.
Certainly, I want to beat Clemson and we absolutely can - but I just worry that O-line won't be ready game one. I expect them to be a very good o-line later in the season but game one.....I'll be nervous.
