Parents of 2 little girls murdered while hiking

They were hiking as a family on a super popular family trail at Devil's Den State Park, about 15 minutes south of Fayetteville. The husband was stabbed, the wife ran the girls back to I'm assuming the visitor center, she went back and was murdered too. This world is evil. The girls are 7 and 9, they had just moved here.

This is why you pack when hiking. Its not for the bears. Its for the evil worthless 2 legged predators.
I know two people who have been robbed at gun point at trail heads. Thats A LOT for someone in Louisiana, where the overwhelming vast majority of my social circle does zero hiking.

I've been following this bizarre story for the last few hours. None of it makes sense. I've stayed at Devil's Den SP many times. Beautiful place.

Even when you’re hiking with someone you should pack. There’s no safety in numbers when the bad guy has a gun.

This just happened. The family couldn't possibly know this.
Random attack by someone looking for a thrill kill? Devil's Den SP requires way more effort than needed and is in the top three most popular state parks in Arkansas. It's crowded which means witnesses.
