1.83.ERA

First player since 1893 to have sub 2 ERA and 300+ks after 44 starts.

Also has a chance for a rare win with 4 runs of support.

Hopefully they can hold the lead with a 4 run lead and only a few innings left.

He has a chance to be one of the greatest pitchers of all time, if not the best ever. Certainly in the Modern Era. He’s lapping Clayton Kershaw through their first year and a half. Off to a better start than Nolan Ryan, Randy Johnson, Clayton Kershaw, Pedro Martinez, Greg Maddux, Roger Clemons, Sandy Kofaux etc. Can’t really count the 1800’s guys and their ERA or wins numbers. Most of the best ever started off a little bit slower and came into their true form years into their career. Paul doing this at 23 and his first 2 seasons is insane. A 1.92 ERA across his first 266 innings is completely unheard of.

Talking about future greatness of a 23 year old always makes me feel like we’re going to jinx him into some sort of injury bug or something. Knock on wood! He’s still such a student of the game trying to get better every day. It’s really scary to think about.

Now it's 6-0 pirates going into the top of the 9th.

Nothing is guaranteed but he might get a 2nd win in a row...

if you’re the Pirates, why don’t you just throw out 10 for 500 like the Royals did with Witt Jr

Just see what he says.

I’d love to see him build an organization versus just going to the Yankees or Dodgers

The scumbag owner doesn't want to win. It's more profitable to pocket the revenue sharing and trade everyone good.

Whoever lands him in the next two years is going to pay the most expensive trade price in sports history.

Great to read and thanks for the update.

Paul Skenes was one of the best leaders LSU baseball has ever seen, and his story is the ultimate recruiting tool for pitchers.

I'll be rooting for Skenes throughout his MLB career.
