No, Star Trek has NOT "always shown a light" on the alphabet + mafia community. What a colossal load of trash.
There is no 'homophobia'. It's simply lazy virtue signaling to promote an agenda at the cost of true storytelling. At the cost of continuing the legacy of Gene Rodenberry and the search of exploring the galaxy.

Nurse Chapel wasn't a Starship captain. So there's that.
That was 60 years ago, we've already been through this.
Captain Janeway was 30+ years ago.
Again, this isn't 'cutting edge'.
But as you pretend to not understand the context, this trailer is 4-6 years too late. The 'seeing myself' in Star Trek isn't a thing anyone cares about. No one ever did. This is full tilt DEI trash and the more you try to deny it, the sillier you make yourself look.

It’s always the people who aren’t fans of these properties who defend this stuff strictly because of the political nonsense. Original Star Trek was pure science fiction, always asked the question then presented a multi aspect view of it. It didn’t push crap like this.
