I came across this on Netflix while looking for a good series to watch. When I started to watch the first series it had a lot of gay crap in the beginning so I stopped watching.
Has anyone watched this and how much gay crap is in it?

I watched it during its run, I may be remembering wrong but isn't the gay stuff lesbians and not dudes.

I watched it when it aired on Starz and thought it was pretty good. The only gay stuff I remember is lesbian stuff but I guess it's pretty prevalent.

The main character is the young lesbian cop.She parties and has sex with other women throughout the series. If that bothers you, don't watch it.

The lead is gay. It takes place in a gay heavy environment
The first 2 seasons weren’t bad and it veers off after that
I watched it weekly when it came out.
Wasn’t a bad show but there’s better stuff out there to watch

Its pretty raw. Badger Dale holds it together, but there are better shows.

I started watching this show. Is there any show with a more miserable set of characters essentially bereft of any moral compasses? There is no happiness anywhere. I'll finish season 1 anyway.

Started watching a couple of days ago. Been a while since I’ve seen acting THIS bad by a lead. Gonna try to make it through the season but she’s not making it easy.

I've gotten through season 1 & 2. I think JBD is great. I think Riley Voelkel is even better. The only other time I saw JBD was in The Pacific. That is why I started Hightown. I also remember Riley from Roswell New Mexico. Riley's Renee is such a complicated character.
I just watched an interview with Riley Voelkel about Hightown Season 3. She seems to be a great authentic person. Said she is the absolute opposite of Renee. She said this was a dream job. I hope she continues to get good parts. Riley is just poised, kind and authentic. She got married to a guy from Georgia two years ago and indicates Georgia is her home.

IMDB facts: Riley is 35. And Hightown is the first project she's done nudity in. And she did a lot. In fact it seems like the females in the show worked hard to make the sex scenes look fun.
YT fact: Riley was an athlete. She said she had all the pitches in softball. Something like seven pitches.
