Why is it that with all that experience within the league their answer to signing players is “pay him”! Then after the fact, the same idiots bitch that said players are strapping their respective teams against the cap. It would be so refreshing to hear a respected voice say “trade the player, he’s not worth it”

This happens, quite literally, all the time

I can’t remember the last time I heard talking heads say a STAR player should be traded vs signed. Now, I heard plenty of times they say “pay your player early vs waiting”, but not trade him. I heard no one say Dallas should trade cede or Dak. It was always “you HAVE to sign them at any price”

I agree with this for QBs. There’s only so many and they give you a chance if you have one

A lot of people said the Bengals were making a mistake keeping Higgins.

And the regular dorks who never played are all jocksniffers and cleat chasers who want to be cool with the boys. They're never gonna side w/ ownership unless it's in favor of firing a GM or coach.

On the major networks, they will never say that about a QB, star players, and probably not a starter. When you catch the podcasts from these guys, you will hear them say these things pretty often. Not as much as you probably should, but I've heard them talk about it more often.

They probably do say “trade his arse”.
They just don’t say the quiet part out loud.
