Pat Green performs Wave on Wave in Lake Charles the same night as the funeral of his brother and most of his brothers family. Not sure how he made it through the show. He mentioned his brother and family (and other flood victims) a handful of times during the show.

I always enjoyed Pat. Seen him many times in Texas and New Orleans. Tough! Prayers!

I guess his brother and family were victims of the flooding?
I don't know anything about the situation.
That's a great song.

Yes- I left that part off the OP. I believe they were in an RV park near Kerrville.

They were. They were at the Blue Oak RV Park behind Howdy's Restaurant. Singer/songwriter Julia Hatfield and her husband were staying in the same RV Park: they survived but lost their RV and everything in it

Tough to watch. It takes a lot of strength to get through that.

Julia Hatfield
For a scary moment I thought you were talking about 90's alt-pop star Juliana Hatfield, and wondered why that Boston music icon was down on the Guadalupe.

Glad that both Julia and Juliana are safe. 30 years ago I Interviewed the New England JH when she played on S Peters Street (what was that club... Red something?). Juliana was as nice as can be.

Lost his brother, along with his brothers wife and 2 kids I believe.

He led a benefit concert on YouTube last week for flood victims. Lots of old Texas country artists.

Loved seeing Pat Green’s shows when I was stationed in San Antonio. The best couple of years of my enlistment were spent down there. I must have listened to that song a million times.

Gosh that was tough to watch.

Damn that’s sad. Big fan of Pat and Southbound 35 and Wave on Wave take me back to my college years. Seen him plenty of times and he was the last live concert I saw in 2020 before the world shut down.

Have that same long sleeve button down from Faherty CSB

Julia used to play and sing at my friend’s bar when she was barely out of high school.
First time I saw her name on the marquee I definitely did a double take

They had a daughter that survived because she was at a summer camp. I think it was Camp Longhorn. She wasn’t at Mystic. The rest of the family was camping in the area that week she was at her summer camp.

The poor girl lost her parents and two brothers.

Poor Pat. I can't even begin to imagine what he's going through.

That was tough to watch. He was always a favorite of mine.

Through 25 years of listening and seeing shows, Pat has been the happiest, most joyful guy…rarely a sad song even played amongst the usual setlist standards.

Those 2nd verse lyrics to Wave on Wave he’s been singing almost every night since ‘03 took on a whole new meaning that I think even he wasn’t ready for in that video. Just gut-wrenching stuff…hopefully he’ll find some kind of comfort eventually but right now it’s understandably difficult.

I have his recording of Wave on Wave that he did with Iowa’s marching band. Still have it on my playlist rotation. He’s a good dude.
