A couple weeks ago wife and I were laid low by back and shoulder injuries. Weekend neighbors had a Friday night supper with about 12 participants. Wife and I did not go next door, but neighbor brought over 2 12 ounce cups of margarita for us to share. 6 hours later wife and I were throwing up in trash bags. Turns out that 9 of the 12 neighbor participants had the same vomit comet experience.

Question? was this salmonella or norovirus.

Observation.... Tequila will not prevent food poisining

Sounds like your neighbors have a short list of three neighbors they like, and you ain’t on it.

I'm not trying to scare you or make light of your situation, but your neighbor very clearly doo dooed in that margarita mix.

ETA: Or at the very least, prepared it with doo doo fingers.

Did they have a home margarita machine next door?

The dispensers on those are a Petri dish of salmonella and e-coli, unless they are properly cleaned.

Incubation period for salmonella is between 6 to 72 hours but typically around 12-36 hours.

This reminds of the Legionnaire's Disease outbreak caused by the vegetable misting system at the Bogalusa Winn Dixie in the 1980's. Several people died and some became very ill before the source was identified.
