Those kids that are “catching” these fly ball don’t need to be out there. Has anyone actually caught one in the face because some of those line drives are screaming?

i remember in one of the recent years a kid took one to the face and had to be helped off the field

You obviously don’t watch. These a major leaguers hitting these balls 500ft and/or hitting line drives that these kids have never come close to fielding. Of course it’s a once in a lifetime experience, but imo, I would pick something else for my kid to experience….and I played very high D-1 ball.

That was absolutely legendary. He will always be the guy who robbed a major league homer when he was 13 or whatever.
And yeah, kids were just running away from O’Neal Cruz’s 16 degree missiles.
