Is LSU even looking at this player? His highlight reel is pretty strong. Currently committed to Wake Forest. Has great track stats as well.
From 247: As a junior, ran for 2,234 yards and 29 TDs on 10.1 yards per carry, while catching 23 passes for 258 yards and 3 TDs on 11.2 yards per reception. Also threw an 80-yard TD pass.

Not if he is anything like the small backs we had that were really good.
You know like going all the way back to Kevin Faulk up to CEH and possibly two current backs like
Trey Holly and Harlem Berry.

There was nothing small about CEH. he was 215lbs at the combine. He was short, not small. Plenty of RBs in that 5'8-5'10 range. He was just a bit short at 5'7 1/4" but built like a tank.
Although I wouldnt consider 5'9 190 small for a high school junior at all.
There were *some* people harping about Harlem Berry back when he was like 175 and he'll be 185-190 come time for the season.

Our RB room is young. I'd be surprised if they signed any RB in the 26 class.
The 27 class lists Jayden Miles and Braylon Calais as top two in-state RBs. But Calais will NEVER play back. He's from my hometown... fast, smooth route runner, 6'2" , high jumper to the ball... IMO the best wide receiver prospect from LA since Jamar Chase. That means a true #2 back will have to emerge in 27... or it's OOS or portal.

I'd like him way better if he were 3 inches shorter

BUt how heavy was he in high school? Because we are talking about a 2026 HS SR.

Three of the best running backs of all time (Barry Sanders, Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton) were all in the 5’8”-5’10” range and weighed less than 200 lbs in high school.
Good RBs come in all shape and sizes. Speed, vision, and shiftiness can’t be taught. If he has those traits, then he’ll be successful at the next level.

Holes for RB's don't have to be tall just wide. Some of the best all time RB's were under 6'.

Ashton Jeanty was not a big back either. And this young man runs a 4.39?? Sign me up.

My nephew goes to school with the kid. He's fast. Somebody is going to make a thread on this kid in 3-4 years about why LSU didn't go after him.
Now personally I'd grab him over a transfer RB. However, i wouldn't be mad if LSU didn't take him

Why are we acting like these guys have to contribute year one?

Development is a hell of a concept for some people.

It’s a great starter size to enter college on

Good patience and vision, acceleration and top end speed.
Seems like a no brainer.

Kevin and Marshall Faulk, Dalton Hilliard, all from Louisiana, 5'9-10", 200#

Plater will certainly be a 200 lb back by the time he is on a college campus. He was hands down one of the most wanted football athlete in the Shreveport area. Every high school in the area was after this kid. His middle school team was back to back undefeated champs because all they had to do was give him the ball.
He was at safety his first two years of high school. He would probably have more offers if not for that reason alone. They moved him to RB his junior year, and that tape speaks for itself.
