Kim Jong Un is pledging to "unconditionally support" whatever Russia does to fight Ukraine. That comes after a report from early July that he wants to send 30,000 troops to Ukraine. North Korea, meanwhile, is estimated by Seoul to have supplied 12 million artillery rounds to Russia.

Pyongyang's foreign ministry wrote that Kim had met with Russia's foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov, during which the two leaders pledged to "strengthen strategic and tactical cooperation" between their countries.

Kim said he was "willing to unconditionally support all measures taken by the Russian leadership in relation to the fundamental resolution of the Ukrainian situation," the report said.

I realize Ukraine has a huge population disadvantage, but it sure appears that Russia is having manpower issues of their own.

After years of “ramping up”, the US is producing about 240k shells a month

North Korea casually sending Russia 4 years of production should be a wake up call for US procurement

Yeah, and add to that, I don't think Kim cares how many of his people die.

This is a cheap way to keep causality numbers down with the Russian people. Use Wagner, Chechens and North Koreans.

Excellent!!

Not only is Russia bleeding itself dry. It’s using up the only quality troops the NK’s have.

If North Korea allowed their military on the other side of their border, there would be mass defections.

Russia is also helping. They have the resources, while the other two have the soldiers who are disciplined and raised on ideological defense of their regimes.

China is sitting on the fence, taking it all in.

China often uses N Korea as a conduit to covertly do things that would get them in trouble with the UN or trade partners.

That is true, but economics drives China's foreign policies. They would lose the lucrative European and North American trade if they jumped in, so they are all constrained for now.

China has a HUGE economic reason to support Iran in that they supply 1.38 barrels of oil a day (or 90% of Iran's total exports). Losing that oil stream would be devastating.

Therefore - they supply N Korea with parts for military weapons and N Korea assembles and trades equipment with Iran. China does not directly aid Iran and thus does not violate trade agreements. N Korea has no trade agreement with the West so it doesn't matter. China has been doing this for years - its why a POS country like N Korea has such a sophisticated defense system. Its essentially an international weapons factory for China.
