Bound to happen when these things don't require any kind of schooling or licensing. Categorized as ultralight aircraft. Most pilots do consider training "mandatory" but there is no law requiring it.

I saw two of those flying west bound down I-12 this morning around Hammond. They were above the power lines.

I remember the first time I saw a couple of those flying lawn chairs over the house. I didn't know what the hell they were.
