I watched a YouTube video on Dubai choc. Seems like there’s a lot of variations and knock offs to the original one. I recently ran across it during my travel. I paid $7 for a bar similar to a size of a single Twix bar. Upon breaking it, I noticed the filling was dark greenish brown, very different from the bright green associated with Dubai chocolate. It was alright but it’s hard to enjoy something that you think might be a knock off. I heard Trader Joe’s has them although I never see them at the store.

As I understand it, shredded phyllo dough is the filling with sugar and pistachios. The chocolate is very good by itself.

Finally saw it the other day as I was checking out at a grocery store but couldn’t bring myself to pay $13 for a chocolate bar. How would you know if it’s authentic?

There is a place in Metairie that makes it. Sweet Handkraft. I brought my daughters to this place, because they had heard wonderful things about Dubai Chocolate from TikTok.

Their words, "it's disgusting." I made them eat every last bit of it. Wasn't inexpensive. I told them, don't believe every online commercial or hype video. And especially from TikTok. Companies and people have a tendency to oversell something.

This came from Zuppardo's in Metairie. I had seen it at International Market before. I didn't realize it had gone viral when I bought it.

I have found that the quality varies between brands, bought cheaper ones that were crap, but the $16 bar I got at Fresh Market was very good and was huge. An every once in a while impulse buy.

Bought one while traveling in Texas a few weeks ago. While I really love chocolate and eat way too much Dubai Chocolate just isn't for me. Wasn't horrible but wasn't near good either.

To be authentic, it needs camel milk instead of cow milk.

I saw her version on fb and it’s the closet from the original. I don’t know what it’s suppose to taste like but willing to try. Are they available daily at this grocery store?

Btw, I saw a mountain of it at Costco today. Tastes better than the one I got in Houston but there’s no kadayif pull. Filling was like a paste with grainy crunch mixture.

My daughter brought me one she picked up at a restaurant, it was delicious and I ate it over the course of a week. Recently bought one I saw at a store. It was under $10, smaller and thinner than the restaurant version. Haven’t opened it yet.

One of the main reasons why I didn't like it. The texture isn't good.

This is the one I got at bonjour. It is really really good, but I don’t know how to compare to whatever the original is. I know these people make high-quality chocolates here in town.

The real og Dubai bars are a lot more. Going for nearly $20.
But there are copies as cheap as $6. As long as its made right you'll get the flavors.
