Headed to Billings and Sheridan this weekend for a quick summer trip with the family.

Anyone have any dining recs or places that are must-see?

The family likes steakhouses.

Driving Friday afternoon from the home base here in the black hills.

I’ve never heard of anyone going to Billings for pleasure. What are planning to do there?

Don't' have any recommendations for you but those are 2 places on my radar, especially Sheridan so I'll be following.

Just wanted to see what was there, sort of a scouting trip. Never been to Montana before. Billings is right in the middle of a sage/shrub rangeland. You can see the mountains and bluffs in the distance.

Definitely a working town, much less of a tourist destination for sure. A lot of industry.

We did catch the strawberry festival and sampled a good restaurant (Walker's).

Buffalo, WY > Sheridan, WY >>>>> Billings

Buffalo is like 30 min south of Sheridan …. Great little town, effectively where “Longmire” takes place btw - only possible negative is their downtown had brutal road construction as of last May. Hopefully better now
