50% tariff on copper imports

“Today, we’re doing copper,” Trump said during a Cabinet meeting. “I believe the tariff on copper, we’re going to make it 50%.”
Trump also said he would soon announce tariffs “at a very, very high rate, like 200%,” on pharmaceutical imports.
Pharmaceutical companies could have up to a year and a half to start producing their products in the U.S. before those new tariffs take effect, Trump added.

Each modern penny doesn’t have that much copper. Now granted all together the would have a fair amount.

It’d be one (still stupid) thing to threaten 50% tariffs for some legit economic reason…it’s another thing to threaten 50% tariffs because Brazil has a trial against Bolsonaro. How about we not meddle in another country’s business? Wasn’t that one of Trump’s campaign platforms? For four years all we heard about was how Dems/Biden were weaponizing government…literally all Trump has done so far is weaponize every facet of the government against people he doesn’t like. It’s stupid and has so far accomplished nothing.
