EDIT TO ADD regarding third parties. Frankly I kind of think one could argue that Trump already did create a third party. He just didn't give it a new name. That's not a complaint for me. Frankly it's a bit of admiration. Dude created a completely new coalition of Voters and did it under one of the old banners. Nobody else had managed That Trick.. anyway to the original post
I don't really understand why people are mad about this. Try to hold more than one thought in your head at the same time. I completely agree with the people that recognize that Trump understood in this situation the art of the possible versus The Art of the perfect. Trump took what he was able to gain in the current political environment and ran with it. But it's also completely fair to point out that there are substantial problems with what is currently in the art of the possible. And a big reason why there are those limitations is because of the way the current two parties have behaved literally for decades. I think if you were to put Trump in a room by himself and just have a chat with him he would tell you exactly this himself. It is completely possible to simultaneously agree with Trump that this was the best he could get and agree with Elon that it's still kind of shite.
I mean are there really any conservatives Among Us who don't think the federal government is still a cesspool of wasted money? Are they really conservatives out there who don't think that if you could way the magic wand you would want the government to be substantially smaller?
It's completely Fair to say that the congressman standing in Trump's way were foolishly placing ideological Purity over the art of the possible. In that way Trump is their Superior politically.
And do I really think musk will be successful with his new party? No I don't. But I absolutely do understand the motivation behind it

Well I already said that I don't actually think the third party will work. That said there is an enormous difference in 2025 versus what happened with Perot. The problem anybody had back then was the narrative was still almost completely controlled by a few mainstream media Outlets. There was no such thing really as alternative media. For Ross Perot or anybody else back then you basically had to rely on immediate to get out your message or you were screwed. And that went for anybody else who even thought like you.
The Paradigm today is completely different. Now I'm very skeptical still that a third party can catch hold. But it really is a completely different environment

There were democrats and then republicans. And then democrats, democratic socialists and republicans and maybe MAGA. MAGA will become the American Party and hopefully republicans play nice with them. In essence we are forming coalition ruling arrangements. The democrats have a five to ten year head start.

It's funny that you posted this literally as I was editing to add to the original post because it's very close to what I just added

But the D&DS coalition are batsh*it crazy in wanting to take the country off the rails. It's going to take an immense effort to push that aside. You may notice no democrat has come forward to condemn the push to turn our country socialist . Not even that old time hag Debbie Dingle from Michigan who should know better. It's all about the power to strangle the other side.

The problem with Democrats have now is that they basically conceded a huge swath of Americans that voted for somebody like Bill Clinton back in the day. They've handed them to the other side and worse they have brazenly insulted them in the process. To the point now that they're pretty much stuck having to kiss arse to the Democratic Socialist

Who Elons base? Pissed off people?

I think some of you look at this way too narrow.
Of course some of the pissed off people are Trump's people. You know why? Because Trump is one of the pissed off people. Do you think this bill represents exactly what Trump would have asked for if he could have gotten whatever he wants? Of course not. He's completely constricted by the bullshite going on in Washington that's been going on forever
And he's a smart guy so he took what he could get but that doesn't mean he's happy with it. It just means he's happier with it than the alternative.

Who is mad? Anyone who has a functioning brain simply doesn’t care.
I don’t have anything against Musk, he’s frustrated and pissed about something just like the rest of us at many points in our lives.
What he doesn’t understand is this. He can be worth $200 billion, he can be worth $200 trillion, and it doesn’t matter. When you are up against the most powerful man in the world, your money simply doesn’t matter.
So he can throw all the fits he wants, nothing he does or doesn’t do will make it matter.

Like I said, that is where the enthusiasm is in the democrat party. The old democrats know where that will take the country. They prefer to watch the ride. Fight, fight, fight!

It’s almost as if musk is trying to level the playing field.

Wrong. The republican votes have not changed. Our stance has been the same for a long time. The dims have hijacked the republican party and Trump was finally a non-dim plant that won.
Trump isn't even as republican as his supporters are. WE elected Trump. WE want real republicans in office. We want Bill Cassidy to go run under what he really believes and it isn't the Republican party.
Just when we are winning back our own party, the talk of a party that is basically the same is just stupid.

Musk isn’t e’en American. He need to GTFO with this shite
Posted on 7/5/25 at 8:43 pm to Grumpy Nemesis
Has anyone joined this party yet other than Elon?

I think one of the major problems is that the two major parties are simply corporations that we expect to compete against one another - which they do, until their interests coincide and then they collude. That's when they stop serving our interests and just serve their own, coincident interests.

Clinton would have still won 1992 in a landslide vs Bush-Quayle regardless. Perot got 19 million votes and Clinton beat Bush-Quayle by 6 million in the popular vote. Clinton won 370 to 168 in the EC. Multiple studies and analyses have shown only two states would have swapped without Perot in it, so it’s really irrelevant.
I’m not advocating for Elon’s 3rd party or anybody’s, but Perot is just a footnote in history.

That’s ok. If he causes the republicans to lose he will spend the rest of his life in prison because he will be the first one they go after
