Allman Brothers are top 3 for me all-time, maybe No. 1.
And Whipping Post or Blue Sky are my top song.

Blue Sky is probably my favorite.

I'll give you the great guitarists aspect of that, but there's plenty of better vocalists (throughout Great Britain, as well as the U.S.) than Greg.

I never said he was the best in America. But name a better blues singer from Britain than Greg.

I don't know, but discussing the merits of good to better blues singers is like comparing root canals to passing gall stones. They suck no matter what.

Gregg was a fantastic vocalist in his prime. His voice was a perfect fit for what the ABB was doing at the time.
Voices in rock music, to me, are about fit and not pure vocal quality. We aren't watching opera or a Broadway musical.

Even early Bruce Springsteen was trying to copy him.
He did great things with his voice that inspired other things from his band.

Springsteen's voice sucked balls. Always has. No blues to his vocals at all. Smarmy Jersey crap.
He was a Seger impersonater.

Honestly the allman bros play every instrument better than the stones and have 2 guitarist better than the stones. To make a football analogy the stones don't have one guy that could start for the Brothers

I know, Greg was damn good. I'm only giving him shite.

There wasn't a better voice for southern rock at that period of time.

ABB wasn't Southern rock, at all, to any degree.
