Saw where M Hairston from Kentucky is being accused back in 2021. Obviously if true accused should get in trouble, but we see so many of these that aren’t true. I sooo wish an athlete would file a civil suit but make it CLEAR that all monies won will be donated to something related to sexual assault. That way, people can’t accuse the wealthy athlete of bullying

Funny how this pops up after he gets drafted in the first round.

This sort of thing happened before that. It may be more common but it may also simply be more publicized.

The girl filed a report with the University before the draft. All the teams in the draft and the NFL knew about it. It was investigated by the university and dismissed.

That doesn't mean it did not happen, but the investigation found nothing actionable, apparently. The threshold for proof in a civil trial is lower than in a criminal trial, but I would find it hard to believe everyone (the university, NFL for the combine, and teams looking at him for the draft) doing their due diligence would have dismissed the allegations if there was any merit there.

If it proven to be a false claim they should face the same punishment the accused was facing...problem is they will never prosecute, or rarely prosecute, the accuser.

They end up filing all of these as civil claims because they have no merit for criminal claims. Civil claims have a much lower burden of proof so its easy for the women to get a payoff or a payday.
