The A’s representatives for the MLB Futures Game that is played during All Star week are a pair of former Tigers in LHP Gage Jump and 3B Tommy White.
Jump is currently the A’s #1 prospect and is in Double A. Across 2 teams this year is 8-3 with a 2.09 ERA and 89 K in 73.1 IP
Tanks is the A’s no 6 prospect and is in High A with a .277 BA, .505 SLG, 9 HR and 24 RBI.
Former SS commit Konnor Griffin is also on the roster for the Pirates.

I think I read recently that Jump was a top-10 pitching prospect in all of MiLB. We have had some incredible arms the past few years.

Tommy seems to be swinging it really well. Looks like he's opened up his stance a little since his time in BR. Wonder if they are trying to get him to pull more.
ETA: was trying to find some info on Crews still being hurt but can't find anything recent. He hasn't played since mid-May.

That’s really impressive for Jump to be the number 1 prospect in only a couple years.

Hasn’t even been a full year. Could always tell he had something special though

You’re right I forgot he got drafted last year. Even more impressive!

We were lucky to have Jump. I enjoyed watching him pitch at LSU for the short time he was here.

Jump won't be long if he continues on his current trajectory
White likely not far behind

I think you’re correct. Oakland is known for promoting their prospects to MLB relatively quickly. Nick Kurtz from 2023 wake forest is up there with them now.

And he has already dropped 12 bombs in limited action. The A's (and a lot of other MLB teams) are letting their young guys learn on the fly. It wouldn't be the worst thing to be a draftee of them right now. Lots of promise in their future.

Is Tanks still playing for Lansing?

Konnor Griffin is off to a ridiculous start in his pro career. He might be in the bigs shortly after he turns 20 next year.

quote:Yeah, then trading them to a legit organization. I'd somewhat followed the A's growing up cause my dad was a fan when they had young Mark McGuire and Frank Thomas. Really sad what kind of org they've become
