Some of us are not as lucky as Ron Mexico and can't fly to freaking Ohio on a whim. For those in this boat, is there a bar in New Orleans to watch this match with other USA fans?

Clubseatpeat you don't have 95 sets of season tickets for USA Soccer and your own plane? That seems odd for you

Finn McCool's is the biggest soccer bar I know of in the city....I miss O'Flaherty's at world cup time though.

ETA: I watched the U.S-Italy world cup match at Cooter Brown's a couple of years ago and the place was packed....Finn McCool's would probably have more fanatical fans though.

Finn's is definitely the place to watch soccer. I personally hate it, but the place is always filled with folks watching some game in which I have no clue what is going on.

It's on Banks St. near Jesuit High. And the best part is the beer is cheap! Two bucks for a longneck.

Finn McCool's is cool. My favorite is Ryan's Irish pub on Decatur and Beinville

Do any bars open up early for EPL matches?

I know that Ryan's opens at 11 or 11:30. Me and the Mrs. have made day of it a time or two when Man Utd is the late game

I've been to Finn's once, for the FA cup final two years ago which was an early start and that place was packed!

ETA: it sucks that Baton Rouge doesn't have a place that shows EPL or soccer games. One would think that Ivars would, but they don't.

I'm spoiled here in Dallas, because my home soccer pub (Trinity Hall) opens up at 6:30AM almost every week during the EPL season. Not that I like to be there that early, but if Arsenal is scheduled at that time, I'm there.

but if there is ever an Ireland game at the same time as a USA game, don't expect to catch the USA game there

I agree that Finn's is probably the place but I have never been there for a US match. The ex pats were going nuts for England and Ireland, though (I went with friends).

Another, possibly edgier option is Vaughn's over in Bywater. I have seen some pretty good crowds of Mexicans there for Mexican games. Don't know about the US, though.
