How many of you here consider yourself to be full fledged "Internet nerds"

What I mean by that is you have multiple profiles to multiple message/chat boards.

You play online games with people on regularly scheduled times/groups.

You have a "station" at home...a full on desk set up and gaming chair with all the accoutrements you need for hours spent online.

Excuse me if I got many of these details wrong as I would consider myself not an internet nerd...this is the only message/chat board I use and I don't play online games and have never played D&D etc

I was during my early teens in the 90s and then in to the 2000s. It was fun back then. The “internet” or whatever you’d call it today has largely been taken over by normies.

Yes, but not scheduled.

It's how I stay in good contact with close friends that just had kids. We shoot the shite for hours later in the night sometimes so in the rare times we do see each other in person, it's like not much has changed.

How old would you assume I am? I'll let you know if you're in the right neighborhood

I only have one social media account so my family can follow my travels. I can game MMO or others, deep dive search, or anything else on the web.

I think that's dependent on the definition.

I'm definitely an "internet nerd".

We got out first desktop in 1999, I was 7-8 years old. I was on forums by the time I was 10. I started learning HTML/CSS and was active on old invisionfree forums (now Zeta boards I think?). Among my peers in Cenla, I was early but there were other like minded friends who were also online before it was normal. We were seen as weird. I would have been a full on nerd if I didn't happen to also be good at football. I think the best thing about that early clique of people who had computers, were online in the late 90s/early 00s, was how our sense of humors were similar and have often stayed the same. I see them online posting things that I still find insanely funny even though we don't talk much anymore, more absurdist stuff than I see from others.

Also, if you're posting on this forum, you are more of an internet nerd than you think. You'd be surprised at the number of people who have no idea that people venture off of facebook/IG/TikTok/News sites.

Outside of work, probably 90% of my internet time is spent here and that's not much.

I've grown to hate the internet

There is a difference between being "online" and "perpetually online" and you get it fully

I only use TD and Twitter. I've never had a Facebook or Instagram account

I stopped playing video games a long time ago, but my son is definitely a gamer. I'll spend some time watching him play games and having him explain all the details. He gets so animated it just brings a smile to my face.
